The Project
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE'RE DOING
The project Crazy Sampling is managed by Jamvortix and Vertigo Studios, two italian producers, musicians and sound engineers.
The basic idea is sampling sounds of quotidian objects intended for other uses well far from music scope but that are musically/playables (like the can of potato for example, used like percussions kit). So we record all possible sounds that this objects can play, then we develop a program to build a vst playable with a midi keyboard in every daw.
The sampling is edited by Jamvortix, who upload on his youtube channel the making of the sampling process.
Equipment:
- Stellar X2 by TZ (mic),
- Yamaha Pr7 (recorder),
- Reaper (daw).
The vst developing is edited by Vertigo Studio, who build the virtual instrument needed to play with a midi keyboard the sounds recorded.
They work together to sort samples based on velocity and to assign them to the keys (midi mapping)
